Bill & Tim are two of The Goodies - Graham Garden is curiously not in the ad.

Even while the smoke was still rising, a pledge was made to restore it.
The following year the doors of Buckingham Palace were opened to the public for the first time, with the entrance fees going towards the huge £40 million repair costs to the castle.

Windsor Castle fire on ITN news

ITN news report of the fire at Windsor Castle in November 1992.
It later emerged that the fire was started by a 1000 watt halogen lamp being used by a paint restorer igniting a curtain.
The structural stage of the restoration was completed May 1996 & final fitting out was done in 1997.
